OVERVIEW
Here is a simple explanation of a Word of Knowledge:
**A revelation from God
**About another person
**Of information that is already known to that person.
**The POWER is that the Lord showed someone else this information!
Examples:
- Do you have a headache right now?
- Is your knee hurting?
- I am thinking you may be struggling right now with worry and grief
- Do you have a son that has walked away from the Lord?
- You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband. (Jesus with the woman at the well)
You see, the “WOW” factor is not that this is new information to the one hearing the Word of Knowledge; the POWER behind the Word of Knowledge is that it was revealed supernaturally! (John 4:17-18)
Word of Knowledge is one of the best gifts to start activating people because what we think we are “hearing” from the Lord can be immediately confirmed or denied by the person receiving the word. The person hearing the question or statement knows already if their knee is hurting or if they have a son that has walked away from the Lord. The POWER is in the fact that, “I already know this about myself but now God has shown you this!” The fact that God has shown another person this information opens up faith for the hearer to believe God for breakthrough or healing!

Activation Instructions
Key Points:
- Give all instructions first before anyone moves! (Or else chaos ensues!)
- In just a bit…not now…everyone will stand up, put one hand up high, and begin to move around to find someone they can pair with.
- Everyone should look for someone they either don’t know or don’t know very well.
- If they can’t find someone they move toward the front and you or someone you have appointed begins to pair them up.
- Once they are paired, they don’t talk or introduce themselves. They simply put their hands down and one of them listens for a Word of Knowledge for the other. My easy solution for who goes first? The shorter person!
- I call the person who is hearing God and talking first the “Giver.” The Giver tries three times to get a Word of Knowledge about the other person. Each time I encourage the Giver to:
o First focus on the love of God for themselves (“Lord you love me!”). This is important to reduce anxiety.
o Next, focus on the love of God for the other person. (“Lord, You love this person in front of me.”)
o Finally, ask the Lord to show you something about the person. (“Lord, what is happening in this person’s life.”)
- When the Giver “hears” something—Please refer to the video for the teaching on different ways the Lord speaks to us—they speak it to see if they indeed heard the Lord.
- IF THE WORD WAS ACCURATE – Together the pair clap for 5 seconds, thanking the Lord for the word as well as letting others in the room know that God is indeed communicating!
- IF THE WORD WAS INACCURATE – The Giver starts over and tries again until he or she has tried 3 times.
- Once you’ve given the instructions in detail, take 30 seconds and review the process (people often miss instructions, especially when they are nervous).
- Pray! But just before praying, I will often ask people to consider if they need to repent to the Lord, if they have grieved the Holy Spirit by neglecting to be intentional to hear Him for others. Many times, our focus in asking God to communicate with us is more “self” focused; ”Lord speak to me for ME!”
Therefore, I usually take about 30 seconds of silence to allow people to
search their hearts and repent and then I pray for them. I ask the Lord to turn up the volume and give us all the ability to recognize how He is speaking to us.
- BEGIN!
VARIATIONS
People who know one another – If everyone in the group already knows one another well, it makes this Activation more of a challenge as people can depend on what they know in the natural. If this is the case, I would encourage you to use Activation #2 as the Givers have their eyes closed and don’t know who is in front of them.
